Grav Poster
2017 marked ten years since Wales lost one of its greatest heroes, the giant from Mynydd y Garreg, Ray Gravell.
“Grav” was known for being a rugby legend (playing for Llanelli, Wales, and the Lions), a much-loved actor, broadcaster, and radio/TV presenter, and a ceremonial sword-bearer for Gorsedd y Beirdd. But more than anything, he was known for being a proud, generous, and deeply likeable man.
In 2000, he was diagnosed with diabetes, and in 2007 - exactly 35 years to the day after he helped Llanelli beat the All Blacks in that historic victory - he passed away far too soon at the age of 56.
This poster is our small tribute to Ray Gravell.
“Loving Wales and taking pride in the worth of its people was as natural to Grav as breathing.”
- Professor Hywel Teifi Edwards
